Activities where participants of the MULTIFLOW network are involvedNetwork meetings/workshops/conferences (tentative schedule)January 25–27, 2009, London, UKNetwork kick-off meeting September 7–11, 2009, Paris, France Internal Summer School Introduction into the experimental and theoretical study of interfacial fluid flows June 21–July 2, 2010, El Escorial (near Madrid), Spain Summer school Bifurcations and instabilities in interfacial complex fluid flows November 8–10, 2010, Brussels, Belgium International Conference on Multiscale Complex Fluid Flows and Interfacial Phenomena May 29–June 3, 2011, Haifa, Israel Spring School Interfacial complex fluid flows with phase changes organized by Technion September 19–23, 2011, Goettingen, Germany Summer School: Hybrid modelling of flows of complex liquids organized by University of Goettingen Short instructional courses18–19 August 2009, Loughborough (United Kingdom)Course on sliding and depining drops, DDFT, and bifurcations Announcement and information on application procedure can be found under the following link. 1–2 October 2009, Zürich (Switzerland) 2009 Autumn Training Session on TransAT TransAT is a Computational Multi-Fluid Dynamics software. Multiphase flow is more the rule rather than an exception in industrial processes. Interfacial topology plays the most important role in Multiphase flow: dispersed phase flow (small bubble, droplets, particles suspended in a carrier fluid), large scale gas-liquid flows with heat-transfer and phase change are some examples. Specialized numerical techniques are required for the simulation of different interfacial topologies. Announcement and information on application procedure can be found under the following link. February 8–10, 2010, ULB-TIPs, Brussels (Belgium) Intensive and advanced training on COMSOL (3 days) February 20, 2010, Zuerich (Switzerland) Winter Training Session on TransAT May 4–6 2010, Technion (Haifa) Course on Nonlinear Waves May 17–18, 2010, Orsay (France) Course on liquid complex film with complex fluid (tentative) July/August 2010, Brussels Interferometric methods for interfacial processes September 17, 2010, Zuerich (Switzerland) Winter Training Session on TransAT Sept 22–23, 2010, Orsay (France) Course on Porous Media and Chemistry External workshops/conferences28–30 October 2009, Brussels, BelgiumSolvay Workshop Chemo-hydrodynamic patterns and instabilities organised by Anne De Wit and Pierre Colinet (ULB) Announcement, programme, registration, and other information. 24–27 May 2009, Namur, Belgium EUROTHERM Seminar 84 on Thermodynamics of Phase Changes organised by Francois Dupret and Miltiadis Papalexandris (Louvain) Announcement, abstract and registration information can be found under the following link. 7–9 April 2009, Nottingham, Great Britain Symposium Approaches to Nanofluidics at 51st British Applied Mathematics Colloquium organised by Uwe Thiele (Loughborough) Announcement and registration information can be found under the following link. 23 March 2009–27 March 2009, Dresden, Germany Symposium Self-assembly and Self-organization at Surfaces and Interfaces at DPG Spring meeting organized by J.-U.
