Sliding drops on slightly inclined substrates
Sliding drops are studied through inclusion of a disjoining pressure arising in diffuse interface theory into a thin film equation. One may investigate dynamical contact angles, drop profiles, and transitions between different drop morphologies in dependence of the inclination angle and other parameters of the problem. The model can also be used in time simulations of the three-dimensional problem yielding results for cusping drops, front and back instabilities.
